We love, welcome and support you! :)
I am so glad you have made your way to this site, and hope you enjoy your visit.
Unified Sibs and Allies of the LGBTQIA+ Communities was created to be a safe space for all siblings and other allies to connect with those on similar journeys. And find more ways to support our loved ones as well as learn more about the LGBTQIA+ communities in general.
We currently meet once a month, via Zoom and more frequently on Facebook, in a group of the same name. We also have an IG account too. Links to the Facebook and IG can be found below.
I encourage you to send a message via the 'Reach Out' page if you have anything you would like to contribute to any of the other pages with your own messages of encouragement, items to sell, loved ones remembered, etc
Our first meeting was held on National Sibling Day, (4/10/21), thanks to the support of the San Gabriel Valley LGBTQ Center.
Because it is virtual, it is open to anyone from anywhere :D
It is requested that you register in advance of the meetings. Once you register for one meeting, you will be good for the rest of the year if you decide you want to participate in another meeting. Please message me using the Reach Out page for the link.
Even though it runs from 4-5:30pm pacific time, there is no pressure to be there the whole time. Come whenever you are able/up to it for however long you are able/up to it.
It is perfectly fine to come just to listen with your camera and/or mic off.
Also, swearing is allowed.
I have these allowances because I know firsthand how much easier they can make it for some to open up or feel more comfortable in some way and I want to do my part to help others feel safe, comforted, etc.
* This group has been such a place of calming and acceptance. Sometimes I just listen in, sometimes I speak up and join in, but always I feel loved and I look forward to soaking up the good energy each month <3
Hi everyone, I am Rene(e), aka Ally Sib (she/they for both). I am both a supportIVE and a supportED sibling.
I created this group so there would be more out there for/from/about supportive siblings and other allies. When my brother came out, there was very little available, unfortunately.
I also wanted to create a space where our LGBTQIA+ loved ones could come and receive messages of compassion, love encouragement and whatever else is needed.
Since coming out as Non Binary myself, I understand on a deeper level just how powerful and healing the presence of allies in our lives can be.
